It's a sad day in hip hop as folks are mourning the loss of one of it's finest. Big L who's real name is Lamont Coleman was tragically murdered in Harlem [Uptown] New York the other night. The details surrounding his shooting are still sketchy. Big L for those who don't know was down with artist like Lord Finess and a stellar member of the Digging In The Crates Crew. He was best known for his enticing raps about life on the streets of New York. A few years back he had a couple of underground hit songs called 'MVP' and 'Street Struck' on Columbia records. He never quite blew up in a way that reflected his talent, but '99 looked to a year in which that all changed. Big L will undoubtly be missed.
